WAR MEMORIAL CHAPEL
A MEMORIAL AT THE FOOT OF MT. KRAMER
To commemorate the fallen and missing of the Second World War, a memorial was built in 1952 below the St. Martin mountain restaurant on the Kramerplateau Trail - the War Memorial Chapel. It stands on the plateau northwest of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, at the foot of Mt. Kramer. The chapel with a conical roof and a tent roof tower was built by Hans Ostler. There are several memorial stones and a stone altar with a large wooden cross around the chapel.
Whether you are on a hike or a cycle tour - you can pause for a moment at the war memorial chapel and remember the victims of the World War.
